Build A Sentence

A few weeks ago we did an activity called Build a Sentence.  We start off with a very simple, boring sentence and then work together to make it interesting.

The first time we did this we started with:

The boy ran to the park.

and turned it into:

The magnificent, marvelous, Maori boy sprinted quickly like a charging rhino to the horrible, hideous park where he fell off the monkey bars and broke his leg.

The second time we did this we started with:

We were sitting on that mat.

and turned it into:

We were sitting quietly and sensibly as we paid attention to the kind, brainy and heavy teacher who was teaching an extremely boring maths lesson about silly subtraction and difficult division.

We will post more of these as they happen.
